StarDavid Maymon's Biography

David Maymon was born at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. He grew up in a modest home in South Broward County and graduated from Miramar High School. David MaymonDavid went on to earn a bachelors degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in political science and then went on to earn a juris doctorate from DePaul University.

It wasn’t long though before his heart called him back home to South Florida where he founded Advocate Home Care, a home health agency that provides home care to patients upon discharge from hospitals and nursing facilities throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties. In just three short years, Advocate has grown to employ 8 full time employees and hundreds of nurses working in the field. David built his company from the ground up by focusing on the fundamentals: relentless hard work, conservative fiscal management and innovative ideas that shaped the growth of the business.

As a South Florida Native, he has strong ties to the community he seeks to represent. David is keenly aware of the challenges facing Florida’s families, elderly and businesses today and into the future. His legal and business background provides a unique perspective into the major issues of the day; namely: property tax relief, insurance reform, new health and education initiatives, and most importantly a jump start of our faltering economy.

David has also been an active member of the community serving as Chairman of the City of Ft. Lauderdale's Community Services Board, Deputy Director of Communications of the Broward American FlagRepublican Executive Committee, a member of the Broward Crime Commission, and a trustee in the Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Women and Wishes Foundation honored David Maymon for his outstanding contributions and commitment to making a difference and impacting the lives of women and children in South Florida. .He is also a Transformer at the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center which provides prevention, intervention and treatment service to children and youth with special health care needs and their families, a regular lector at St. Anthony’s Church, a member of two service clubs, the Plantation Kiwanis and the Rotary Club of Ft. Lauderdale and an active supporter of many organization such as the Crocket Foundation, the Broward Homebound Program and the American Cancer Society.
